The Office Upload Center keeps copies of cached files for fourteen days unless you select another time period. It also keeps copies of files that are successfully uploaded, allowing you to reopen them more quickly in the future. You can disable this or clear the cache from here. But it does. We are experiencing issues when our employees save Powerpoint files to their respective OneDrive for Business folder. It's simply not syncing and can even give errors in Powerpoint when trying to save a file. It seems that if we turn off this checkmark the problems are not appearing. If we turn off the Use Office to sync files that I have open settingthe upload center can't work properly. A ny changes that we and other people make to Office files will no longer merge together automatically or sync to the SharePoint Online. We will also no longer be able to share a document directly from the Office apps. For the details, please refer to Use Office to sync Office files that I open. To turn off this setting for an organization, after deploying the OneDrive for Business Next Generationyou may try using Group Policy and disabling the Coauthoring and in-app sharing for Office files policy.

Has anyone been able to get this to stop showing up? We do not use SkyDrive and will not use SkyDrive for any of our files due to regulations and policies and I was hoping to get some help on how to get rid of this.
It is not configured right now, but our security team is worried about it possibly getting configured without a user's knowledge as it is a background program and would be easily missed.
Best thing you can do is run a software report that only looks for Office and then go through and list all the different versions. Are there any error message that occur from the Office suite triggering the execution of that file once it is deleted? This only works with MSI installed office though.
If you installed via Click To Run then I believe you're stuck with it. I wouldn't post it if I didn't know it to be accurate. I only questioned it because there are hundreds of pages across the internet for this very issue and I've not come across any definitive "uninstall" solutions.

This is a terrible MS pushed annoyance, and to make it worse, MS insists that you use it by constantly avoiding previous removal procedures.
